Bus corridors and fare recheck

A current working reference is Gs. 2,300 for a conventional bus and Gs. 3,400 for a differential bus. Reverify both against the current VMT or MOPC tariff before deployment because the subsidy and fare framework can change.

Test direct bus versus transfer, walking distance, frequency, late service and congestion on the major corridors.

Guarantee versus advance rent

Paraguay’s Civil Code regulates guarantees associated with rental and subrental contracts, but the provisions reviewed do not provide a simple universal statement that every Asunción deposit is capped at one month.

Specify guarantee amount, refund or deductions, utility debts, agency commission and receipts. Article 817 should not be converted into a consumer-facing claim that a landlord may simply demand six months upfront.

Air conditioning is part of rent

For furnished rooms, ask whether ANDE electricity is included, whether there is a consumption cap, whether the room has split AC, who pays excess usage, whether hot water is electric and whether cleaning, water and internet are included.

A lower headline rent with uncapped AC electricity can be more expensive than a higher all-in room.

Asunción rental and payment risks

Verification matters more than generic fear language.
