How FlatShare works

How FlatShare works & affiliate disclosure

FlatShare combines partner accommodation inventory with independent guidance to help users make better housing decisions.

Two separate information layers

FlatShare combines accommodation inventory supplied by third-party partners with independent FlatShare guidance for comparing locations and shared-housing decisions. These layers are kept distinct.

Current accommodation source

Live accommodation inventory is currently supplied by Homestay.com through an API and is normally refreshed once per day. A daily refresh does not mean every price or availability status remains unchanged: the booking provider’s website is the final source for current availability, price and booking conditions.

Affiliate relationship

FlatShare has an affiliate relationship with Homestay. If you follow a qualifying FlatShare referral and later complete an eligible booking with Homestay, FlatShare may receive a commission. FlatShare does not charge visitors, process booking payments, receive payment merely for displaying inventory, or currently receive payment for an ordinary click alone.

Future providers may use different commercial arrangements. FlatShare will disclose material arrangements where they affect how users should understand a result or recommendation.

Sponsored links

Affiliate and other compensated links are marked with the rel="sponsored" relationship token. Security-related relationship values may also be present.

What FlatShare does not independently verify

  • Host identity or ownership of a property.
  • Legal status, licensing, safety or building compliance.
  • The accuracy of photographs, reviews, precise location or live availability.
  • Total final booking cost or a property’s suitability for a particular user.

Editorial guidance versus partner data

City and neighborhood guides are editorial content created separately from partner inventory. Market examples, transport fares and legal rules are planning information, not a promise that a room will be available at a stated price.

Before booking

  • Open the current listing on the provider’s website.
  • Confirm final price, included charges, dates and minimum-stay rules.
  • Read cancellation, refund, provider and host terms.
  • Independently check anything material to your decision.

After leaving FlatShare, the third party’s own terms, privacy policy and booking rules apply. See Homestay’s Terms and Privacy Statement.
