LRT and route-specific commute

Addis uses LRT, municipal and private buses, minibuses and taxis. Official fare information is less consistently accessible than in some cities, so do not hard-code an old LRT fare without a current verification.

Compare walk-to-transit, transfers, taxi or minibus fallback, water, power and internet before signing.

Proclamation No. 1320/2024 requires covered residential rent contracts to be written, authenticated and registered before the regulatory body. The rent in the registered contract is the official baseline for the control framework.

Verify the current Addis registration workflow and Directive No. 7/2024 implementation; do not infer a deposit ceiling from the rent-control system.

Furnished and service checks

Ask about water storage, electricity interruptions and backup, internet, security, cleaning, furnishing and minimum stay. An international furnished listing is not evidence of ordinary local room cost.
